Top 4 Girls on Tinder in Thailand (A Woman's Perspective)

Tinder in Thailand

What’s Tinder in Thailand like?

We asked 4 attractive women this question.

Including what you’d need to do to get their swipe right.

Nan - A Thai Girl on Tinder with Great Humor

Hot Thai Girl on Tinder

Our first interview is with Nan.

A girl with a great sense of humor who I found on Tinder in Thailand.

She came decked out in a Donald Trump outfit and MAGA hat.

Alright, alright, that didn’t happen.

But she did throw on the costume when I gave it to her!

Question 1: Would You Rather Date Local Thai Guys or Foreigners?

Nan’s Answer:

Foreigners.

They look sexy. (Laughs)

But they are also funny.

Thai men don’t have the same sense of humor.

And they aren’t care-free.

Most importantly, I can’t learn much from Thai men.

I know them all — I can read them.

Foreigners are more mysterious.

They have viewpoints that I don’t have.

Viewpoints they share with me.

Question 2: What’s the Worst Part about Tinder in Thailand?

Nan’s Answer:

Two things.

  1. Short relationships & hookups.

  2. Guys look good in pictures… but thats’s it.

Often times when I swipe right on a guy he’ll look really good.

But once we meet in person, I find out that he looks totally different.

It’s so annoying!

Note from Marc: You can avoid this problem by reading our comprehensive Tinder Guide.

Question 3: What’s the Best Part about Tinder in Thailand?

Nan’s Answer:

In Thailand, Thai Girls match with Foreigners often.

And when this happens, it can spark a serious relationship.

Sometimes.

Not always! (Laughs)

And even when it doesn’t work out with guys, sometimes we become good friends.

It’s so cool to learn about other cultures and languages.

All because of this app!

Question 4: What’s your Advice for Guys on Tinder?

Nan’s Answer:

Guys, you need to look the same as your picture.

It’s so important.

And in your bio, you shouldn’t say you’re looking for a hookup or short relationship.

In your profile, I want to see your lifestyle.

Not just your portrait.

Not just your headshot.

Show me your personality.

Your family.

Your hobbies.

Note from Marc: This is exactly what we cover in our Tinder 10X course

Kwan - Local Thai Model

Tinder in Thailand Model

Kwan, from Bangkok, is tall and classically beautiful.

And her success as a model is a result of this.

But so is her status on Tinder, as being very sought after.

So what can you do to get her right swipe?

Question 1: Would You Rather Date Local Thai Guys or Foreigners?

Kwan’s Answer:

I’ve found that most Thai men on Tinder are immature.

Typically they are still in University.

Or are young.

Neither of which is what I’m looking for.

On the other hand, foreigners are more mature.

They are well traveled, which is very appealing to me.

Plus, they’re generally good looking!

Question 2: What’s the Worst Part about Tinder in Thailand?

Kwan’s Answer:

Catfish.

This is something my friends complain a lot about too.

Guys on Tinder just don’t look like their photo.

Or their bio is misleading.

It paints a picture of them that’s different than how they really are.

Question 3: What’s the Best Part about Tinder in Thailand?

Kwan’s Answer:

I find meeting guys on Tinder is generally better than meeting guys at a club or bar.

Surprising, I know!

I met my last boyfriend on Tinder, in fact!

Over all, it’s a good place to meet new people.

Question 4: What’s your Advice for Guys on Tinder?

Kwan’s Answer:

Guys, you need to be more descriptive on Tinder.

Both with your bio, and with your photos.

Show more of your lifestyle.

The best you can do this is by connecting your Instagram.

I want to see you traveling.

Eating good food.

See some nice views…

All of this paints a picture of you beyond the 9 photos in your profile.

Instagram is the key!

Olive - Raised in England

Thai Girl Using Tinder

Olive lived abroad in England.

And even has the trademark English accent.

She was excited to share her thoughts on Tinder.

Question 1: Would You Rather Date Local Thai Guys or Foreigners?

Olive’s Answer:

My Preference isn’t to date Thai guys.

I lived abroad, and use English as my primary language.

Because of this, I’ll never culturally connect with a Thai man.

Plus… my preference is not asian.

With that said, I also don’t want to date foreigners who are only here for a few days.

Either guys who just moved here, or have lived here for awhile.

Question 2: What’s the Worst Part about Tinder in Thailand?

Olive’s Answer:

Just like any small country or city, it gets smaller the more you use Tinder.

You bump in to people you’ve matched with or dated before.

Especially if you’re limited to the foreigners that live here.

It’s a small pool!

Unlike other girls, I’ve never actually had a bad Tinder date here.

Though, I did once have a date with a guy that looked way too much like my ex (who I hate.)

So that didn’t work out. (Laughs)

Question 3: What’s the Best Part about Tinder in Thailand?

Olive’s Answer:

Tinder is better than the bars and clubs.

No one there is interested in getting to know you.

Sure, Tinder has a reputation of being a hookup app.

Especially in Thailand which is such a sexual country.

But I’ve found there’s a higher chance of building a relationship or friendships on Tinder.

It’s just easier to filter out the sleazy guys.

Question 4: What’s your Advice for Guys on Tinder?

Olive’s Answer:

Two things.

  1. Put some effort in.

  2. Have a good bio.

I live a little outside of downtown Bangkok.

So when a guy puts some effort in to meet closer to where I am, it’s appreciated.

Next, your bio.

You need to give more than just a list of your interests.

Note from Marc: This is what we call “Showing, not telling.” A core principal in writing your Tinder bio.

You need to have a little more than just a sentence.

(Though don’t have a giant paragraph… I’ll never read it.)

And humor is everything.

If he’s funny, there’s a good possibility that the date will be laid back and intellectually stimulating.

Amy - Thai Born and Raised

Thai Girl in Bangkok

Amy may not look Thai.

And it’s true, her parents are from Senegal.

But unlike her parents, Amy was born here in Thailand.

She’s grown up here.

And she’s yet to leave the country.

Question 1: Would You Rather Date Local Thai Guys or Foreigners?

Amy’s Answer:

Always foreigners.

Foreigners understand me, and understand me well.

Plus, they’re good looking!

Question 2: What’s the Worst Part about Tinder in Thailand?

Amy’s Answer:

Mostly guys lying about their age and background.

Guys say that they are single… but they’re not.

They say that they don’t have kids… but they do.

It takes just minutes for me to find them online, so I don’t understand why they try to lie.

It happens a lot.

Another thing that happens is guys invite me over to their place.

Right from Tinder.

They don’t want to meet somewhere public, or meet out.

That’s not going to work with me.

Question 3: What’s the Best Part about Tinder in Thailand?

Amy’s Answer:

On a rare occassion I meet a great guys.

In one instance, I met a guy who was loyal, kind, and he understood me.

He had manners, and did what gentlemen should do.

Question 4: What’s your Advice for Guys on Tinder?

Amy’s Answer:

The biggest piece of advice I have for guys is to have a good bio.

I actually read them.

And the most important quality in a Tinder bio is humor.

While I normally go for taller guys who are good looking…

If his bio is hilarious, I’ll care a lot less what he looks like.

Here’s what the Women had to say…

Admittedly, our sample size isn’t big.

But what we heard from these girls also aligns with my personal experience swiping in Bangkok.

Girls in Thailand like foreign guys because they are challenging.

They have different world views, different opinions then the locals.

And this makes a different.

But just like most places, these girls struggle with finding guys who are relationship minded.

Which just goes to show you that whether your male or female, online dating isn’t easy.

(Unless you read Zirby… haha.)

I’d love to hear your feedback.

Especially if you’ve used Tinder in S.E. Asia.

Comment below your experiences.

Talk to you next time guys.
